Jarama races confirmed as next rounds of FIA GT3 European Championship.

Richard Dean, Co-Owner and Managing Director of United Autosports, has been selected by his fellow peers and competitors in the FIA GT3 European Championship and then chosen by the GT Commission members as the Teams' representative to the FIA GT Commission.

As the representative to the FIA GT Commission, Dean will have the responsibility to liaise between the GT3 European Championship Teams and the FIA and ensure effective and positive communications to support the on-going growth and health of the series and to ensure that the teams have a responsible and on-going dialogue with the FIA.

Richard will also be responsible for proposing any sporting developments to reinforce the Commission’s work in its desire to provide the participants with the highest quality of series.

“Considering United Autosports is a new team in the FIA GT3 European Championship, I am delighted and feel very privileged to have been selected by my peers and the GT Commission for such an important role,” confirmed Dean.

“My goal will be to represent all of the FIA GT3 European Championship teams in contributing to the health of the series and to providing inputs to make the Series even more competitive. I look forward to attending and contributing at Commission meetings in Paris this year.”

Dean, aged 45, was born and bred in Leeds, West Yorkshire, and can boast an extensive career in motorsport spanning over 30 years. Having competed in karts, Richard duly raced in Formulae Ford, Three and 3000 before forging a successful career in GT and sports car racing categories around the world. The Englishman has competed in all of the major sportscar “classics” himself including 24 Hour races at Le Mans and Daytona plus the Sebring 12 Hours.

The American-owned, British-based United Autosports team contests the entire 12-race FIA GT3 European Championship as well as the Spa 24 Hours with a brace of Audi R8 LMS sports cars.

Dean added: “My fellow United Autosports partners Zak [Brown] plus John [Della Penna] and I are very excited about contesting this year’s FIA GT3 European Championship. It’s a tremendously professional and competitive series and the three of us are striving to match the governing body’s level of professionalism both on and off the track for our maiden season of competition.”
