Venice —Exhibition 'portable Classic', co-curated by Salvatore Settis and Davide Gasparotto, is presented at Fondazione Prada Venetian palazzo place in 18th century Ca 'Corner della Regina from May 9 to 13 September 2015.' Portable Classic 'explores the origins and miniature reproductions of functions of classical sculptures, featuring over 80 artworks on the ground and first floor at Ca' Corner della Regina. Both in ancient and modern Rome Europe a true 'canon' sculptures was created, considered an undisputed peak of excellence in a particular subject. His prestige was so great that, since it was almost impossible to get the originals, their reproductions, even on a small scale, were eagerly sought after by audiences and read. An example is the Farnese Hercules, displayed at a high of 317 cm plaster cast appears next to a number of modern reproductions of smaller scale marble, bronze and terracotta, measuring 15-130 cm. Some works of classical small scale are presented along with multiple Renaissance, through the examples of Marsyas ('Ignudo della paura ") and Crouching Venus. Another section of the exhibition is dedicated to important art collectors of the decade of 1500. In a selection of paintings Lorenzo Lotto, Tintoretto and Bernardino Licinio, the subjects are portrayed between classical sculptures and plaster casts of their personal collections. From the emblematic cases of the Belvedere Torso and the Laocoon, the exhibition illustrates how Renaissance artists employed small-scale copies to elaborate hypotheses about the missing parts of the original classics.

Exposure counterpart 'Classic Serial ", curated by Salvatore Settis and Anna Anguissola and looking at the new location of Fondazione Prada Milan, explores the classical Greek art, its functions and highly conventional and serial language. Seriality was an essential feature of copies Roman as well, and is explored in the project through old and new experiments in the archaeological reconstruction of originals.
